Celebrating Your Successes – 13th February 2026
We are pleased to recognise the achievement of Che Varley, Team Leader Arborist, in our Arborist Services Team, who has successfully completed his Long Goods Vehicle (LGV) training with a Distinction—a fantastic achievement.

LGV training prepares drivers to operate large vehicles safely and professionally. It requires a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and includes theory assessments (multiple choice and hazard perception), practical training, and final driving examinations for specific categories such as Category C and C+E.
It’s also important to recognise that parts of the academic element of the course require study in the trainee’s own time, alongside their normal working hours. Che fully committed to the programme and clearly invested additional personal time throughout its duration—an effort that has paid off with excellent results.
The training covers:
- Basic vehicle operation and the physics of larger vehicles
- Safe reversing, trailer handling, and blind-spot awareness
- Driver hours, load safety, and economical driving practices
Our Arborist Service relies heavily on LGV-qualified drivers to operate 6.5- and 7.5-tonne vehicles, as well as tow 2.6-tonne trailers used to transport tracked machinery. Che’s qualification strengthens the overall capability and flexibility of the team. The more qualified LGV drivers we have, the more effectively we can rotate roles and responsibilities across the service.
Congratulations again to Che on this well-earned success we are proud to have you on our team.
