The LACA School Food Show and Main Event are the only national events dedicated to the school food sector
Totally Local Company were delighted to attend to the LACA Main Event and Exhibition held at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Wednesday 9th July 2025.
TLC colleagues Lisa Tottle, Quality & Training Lead and Blake Heys, Customer Relationship Manager, attended on behalf of Totally Local Company which gave them an opportunity to sample the food offerings from various companies and talk direct to suppliers.

This annual event gives like-minded organisations within the catering industry an opportunity to gather under one roof to keep up to date with what food trends are becoming popular for future menus and recipes.
The event held across 2-days during 8th– 9th July attracted over 1000 delegates from the school meal industry across the country, and it is the only national event dedicated to the school food sector.

With over 160 suppliers and manufactures in attendance, it is a great opportunity to network and discover new products, food and beverages, equipment, systems and services.
Lisa Tottle, our Quality and Training Lead from our Catering Team said: “It was a very good event and great to visit the Finishing Touches Competition again. This is a very popular feature of the exhibition, held in conjunction with the Craft Guild of Chefs, of which Suzanne Roberts, our Cook in Charge from Ladybridge Primary School won previously. At TLC we are already encouraging our Catering team specialists to enter the competition in 2026”.

As well as the exhibition there was a conference that addressed the differences in school meals funding across the nations which explored strategies to ensure that all children and young people receive the very best school food to support their growth and learning.
It has never been more important to establish common ground and a collective voice on the importance of school food and the growing pressures operators are facing to provide this vital service.
