When and why did you join TLC?
I joined in September 2019. I wanted to work for a business that reflected my own values. A place where quality and purpose weren’t overshadowed by the need for profit. I wanted to be part of something that gave me the opportunity to support the businesses and communities in which we operate, and the area I live in.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
A clear vision and direction for the business that wraps around its core values and strengths, underpinned by a sympathetic leadership style. I pride myself on the ability to create an open and honest environment, that encourages everyone to have a voice, to challenge the routine and facilitate change.
What’s most important to you about TLC?
The TLC team and the incredible efforts that they go to, to deliver our clients services. To me it’s crucial to be a genuine partner to our clients and the communities we operate in, rather than simply a service provider.
What values are most important to you?
Openness. The freedom for all involved with our company to be honest and to have their voice heard. Straightforwardness. A no-nonsense, straight-talking attitude and doing what’s right – not what’s always popular or easy. The responsibility to admit when we are wrong and quickly rectify an issue. A strong sense of purpose is vital.
When and why did you join TLC?
I joined TLC in November 2013. With extensive experience in HR management, I relished the opportunity to lead such a hardworking and dedicated workforce. I knew I had the skills to make an impact from day one, to build a solid infrastructure to grow the business, reward good performance and support continuous development.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
I bring three essential strengths to the role: capability, honesty and integrity. Along with these, I bring a commercial thought process and analytical problem-solving capability. I’m always looking for ways I can develop myself along with others, my focus is ‘getting results through people’. I make sure we always have a pragmatic approach when implementing business plans, so that we not only align with our priorities, but develop the organisation, too.
What’s most important to you about TLC?
The most important elements of TLC to me are our people, our customers, and looking after the success of the business.
What values are most important to you?
To promote, honesty, integrity and trust. To honour your commitments and conduct yourself in a way that promotes fairness and respect. Teamwork and great results should always be celebrated, diversity of thought and experience should always be encouraged.
When and why did you join TLC?
I joined the team in January 2021, looking for a role in which I could really make a difference to my local community.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
I am a strong, analytical team player and I pride myself in bringing dynamism to the role. I enjoy leading and developing the finance team to deliver the core financial responsibilities, whilst also providing added value and support to the operational teams.
What’s most important to you about TLC?
It’s the positive impact TLC deliver to the local community that’s important to me. The excellent teamwork and multitude of skills contribute to delivering a wide variety of service lines at a really high standard.
What values are most important to you?
Behaving with honesty and integrity is important to me, and its part of what attracted me to this company. I believe we must respect each other, be selfless and kind – and never underestimate the value of patience!
When and why did you join TLC?
I joined TLC back in 2008 when we were known as Solutions SK – I’ve been proud to play a part in the development of this company to where it is today.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
Over 30 years’ experience working in the sector – I’ve become something of an expert in the role. I’ve previously worked on some pretty important projects in the northwest like the Metrolink and the Mancunian Way. I have extensive experience in TUPE and emergency contingency.
What’s most important to you about TLC?
Being part of a positive culture, where people’s contributions are genuinely appreciated is very rewarding to me. The opportunity to grow in a company I can be proud of is very important.
What values are most important to you?
Everything we do at TLC is about making life easier for our customers. We’re open and honest and we listen to the views of colleagues and customers and deliver on our promises. We’re proud of what we do.
When and why did you join TLC?
I Joined TLC in 2007 in an Operational Management role. I enjoyed the daily challenges and the satisfaction that delivering quality services brings. The company delivers many different services in the community I live in, so I wanted to become a part of it.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
Over 38 years’ experience in the waste and environmental sector working in strategic, client management, and frontline operations. Along with my experience, I’m passionate about delivering a quality service to the residents and businesses of Stockport.
What’s most important to you about TLC?
What’s important to me is that our great company continues to grow. As a result of our dedication, I hope we can retain our excellent reputation as a quality, value for money frontline service provider.
What values are most important to you?
I believe it’s vital to lead by example, be adaptive, maintain a positive attitude and always keep up a strong work ethic.
When and why did you join TLC?
I joined in September 2016. I was attracted by the opportunity to continue my career in Transport Management at a more local level.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
I’m an innovative and dynamic transport and fleet manager. I have over 30 years’ experience and a proven track record in managing a compliant and profitable operation. I balance high operational performance while also providing an excellent service standards, efficiency and performance through great people management.
What’s most important to you about TLC?
Our commitment to our customers and the residents of Stockport. This drives me to ensure we have a legal, functional, and road worthy transport infrastructure at TLC.
What values are most important to you?
I value the honesty and commitment of not only myself but those around me. My team and customers and need to know they can rely on me to always deliver to high standard.
When and why did you join TLC?
I joined Totally Local Company in 2007, I was eager for a change in career and TLC looked like a fantastic team to be a part of.
What strengths do you bring to the role at TLC?
I bring 15 years’ experience in managing services to the public and private sectors from quotation through to delivery. I am adept at developing and modernising services and also identifying, mentoring, and supporting individual’s development.

We work as a team to get the job done, bringing together skills across departments to achieve goals. The company breeds a sense of belonging: we’re proud of our work and we celebrate success. We’re committed to building a sustainable service for the future of TLC and our customers.

I want people to be accountable for the job they are asked to do. If a job’s worth doing, do it properly! I believe in the importance of trust and honesty, and I’m open and understanding-always willing to lend an ear to anyone who needs it.
