Celebrating Our Successes – Totally Local Company – Essential Work, Exceptional Teams – Together We’re Keeping Stockport Moving
Totally Local Company is proud to recognise the outstanding work of our Highways, Street Lighting, and Greenspace teams, who have been conducting essential maintenance work on Stockport’s high-speed roads over recent weeks.
This vital programme, which runs from July through to October each year, ensures that highways remain safe, dependable, and fit for purpose for the thousands of vehicles and transport connections that depend on them every day.
Our teams are involved in a combination of planned civil engineering works which requires expertise and carefully planned traffic management in advance, allowing teams to operate safely and effectively while minimising disruption. The maintenance work includes highway repairs, street lighting maintenance, and gully cleansing, as well as vegetation management to improve visibility and enhance road safety.
One key example is the work undertaken on and along the busy A34 in Stockport, where colleagues have been hard at work repairing road surfaces, clearing gullies, and cutting back overgrowth.
