Supporting Major Infrastructure – Our Role in the Greek Street Bridge Replacement in Stockport Town Centre
Totally Local Company is proud to be supporting Network Rail and Murphys on the significant replacement of the Greek Street bridge in Stockport.
The original bridge, constructed in 1958, carries the Greek Street Roundabout over the busy West Coast Main Line. As part of this major project, our Street Lighting team has been instrumental in site clearance work — disconnecting and removing lighting columns, zebra poles, sign poles and bollards.
The new bridge, installed during a railway closure in August 2025, will provide safer and more reliable train services for decades to come. With an expected lifespan of 120 years, this investment is key to supporting Stockport’s infrastructure and the wider rail network.

Our teams will return to site ahead of the reopening in Spring 2026 to install new street furniture and lighting, ensuring the area is well-lit, safe, and ready for residents, businesses, and visitors.
This project is another example of how Totally Local Company supports the local community by delivering essential services and infrastructure improvements.
Thank you to our dedicated Street Lighting Team for their hard work and professionalism.
