Enhancing Stockport’s Heritage with Modern Lighting Innovation Work completed on St Petersgate Bridge, Stockport

Our Street Lighting team has successfully completed a significant lighting upgrade project at St Petersgate Bridge, situated in the heart of Stockport town centre.

The project focused on modernising the lighting infrastructure while preserving and complementing the character of this historic location.

Our team installed elegant, ornate-style street lighting columns complete with specialist embellishment kits, designed to enhance the visual appeal of this key gateway into the town.

To further elevate the space, new uplighters have been installed beneath the bridge. These subtle yet impactful fittings cast a soft architectural glow, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for evening visitors and enhancing the area’s night-time identity.

In addition to the lighting upgrades, our works included the installation of a new power system for the market stalls and provision of additional power sockets along the Underbank — supporting future town centre events and community activities.

This project showcases our commitment to high-quality public realm improvements and supporting Stockport’s ongoing regeneration.
