Baking Up History: Celebrating VE Day in Our Primary Schools
Marking 80 Years Since Victory in Europe – 8th May 2025
Today, we proudly celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, commemorating the end of World War II in Europe on 8th May 1945.
Some of the primary schools we cater for are marking the occasion in a deliciously meaningful way. Our talented school cooks are baking special treats to help bring history to life for their pupils, combining creativity with commemoration.
From classic sponges to wartime-inspired recipes, these bakes offer more than just a tasty treat – they spark curiosity, conversation, and connection. Children are learning about this pivotal moment in history through baking, storytelling, and themed classroom activities.
VE Day offers a valuable opportunity for the younger generation to reflect on the past, understand the sacrifices made, and appreciate the peace and freedoms we enjoy today.
We’re proud to play a part in supporting schools as they engage students in these enriching and memorable experiences.
