Solutions SK employee receives Learner of the Month award
At Solutions SK, we’re proud of the great team we have – and continue to invest in our people and their professional development.
This November, we’re delighted to confirm that 14 of our school meals team have successfully qualified in their Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership with learning provider Smart Training and recruitment. A further 10 are due to qualify in spring of 2017.
One of our general catering assistants, Tina Rolph from Didsbury Primary School, was commended for her commitment to the training, and has now also been awarded Learner of the Month by Smart Training.
Training Advisors at Smart Training and recruitment work closely with the school meals team to help them achieve their goals. To qualify for Learner of the Month award, the Training Advisor has to nominate someone and present reasons to her team as to why this particular student deserves the recognition for their learning achievements – over and above anyone else.
In this case, Lindsay Waite a Training Advisor at Smart Training, nominated Solutions SK general catering assistant, Tina Rolph to win. Lindsay explained to us why she felt Tina was the ideal candidate for this award,
Tina is a great worker and is a real example that hard work does pay off. She really deserves this and should be very proud.
When the North West Training Advisor (TA) Team voted on this month’s award winner, the choice to award it to Tina, was unanimous.
Tina was awarded a certificate by TA Lindsay along with a £20 gift voucher. Following this, Tina will be entered into a national pool of winners for another chance to win £50.
Tina talked with us after being handed her award and said, even though she has lots of work to do in her job, she loves it and would definitely recommend it – and the training, to others.
Sharon Alldread, Head of School Meals and Facilities at Solutions SK, also told us,
I’m so impressed with the extra time and effort our school meals team have put in to complete this training- and want to congratulate them all. They are a fantastic team who continually support each other, innovate and excel at what they do.
In recognition of everyone’s hard work who has completed their NVQ Diploma, Solutions SK are holding a formal presentation in December to personally thank all these cooks for their dedication and commitment, and to congratulate them on their success.
